Community Benefit Programs
Membership
The Wave promotes lifelong health for all residents of the Flathead Valley through welcoming and accessible aquatic and fitness opportunities for our community, regardless of financial situation. We make this possible via our Membership Assistance Program (M.A.P.), which provides reduced dues on a needs based sliding scale, based on family size and income.
Individual and corporate contributions, proceeds from our annual Whitefish Marathon, grants, and other fundraising efforts fund this assistance for those who need it most. Availability depends on funds, and the process is straightforward and fully confidential.
To apply, complete the application and provide required documentation. Once submitted, our administrative staff typically processes applications in 3–5 weeks, and we notify applicants of the decision.
SCHOOL TO POOL
The Wave works with the local elementary schools to offer complimentary swimming lessons to students during the school day. Aside from The Wave’s Red Cross Learn to Swim Program, the School to Pool program also helps our local youth to be safe in and around the water. An added benefit to all swimming lessons is a solid foundation to build from and become a better swimmer.
A+ Student Program
North Valley students are the focus of much of The Wave’s efforts. The Wave puts a little something extra out there for the students in our community. We have an A+ student program that provides free membership to all students with 4.0 GPAs. At the end of each grading period, students can drop their report cards off with membership to earn free membership over the next grading period.
